UK Funky House artiste Donaeo is the latest act to join the line up for this years UK Bank Holiday weekend 90º Carnival Concert by promoters Next Level PoisonUK set for Friday August 27th at the Troxy, London,UK.
DONAE’O…. The Party Hard singer will play alongside soca act Kes the Band from Trinidad and Jamaican headliner Busy Signal. As Donae’o basks in the critical success of his debut album Party Hard, released this June, he feels good about the path he is on. His has been in hot demand as a producer and featured guest, working with the likes of Craig David and former Mis-Teeq star Sabrina Washington, and of course UK Grime king Lethal Bizzle on his current banger Go Hard.
Kes the band’s unique blend of soulful vocals and calypso-inspired melodies, over a fusion of rock riffs and island beats, hints of soca and reggae, but can best be described as Caribbean Pop. This style has elevated Kes to stardom, allowing the band to become a household name in Trinidad & Tobago and throughout the Caribbean circuit, as well as in niche markets in the United States, Canada and Europe, where they consistently win over audiences with their electric and high-energy performances!
The band has released three albums to date, (Three Baldheads & a Dread, Lion and On in Five), with more than a dozen tracks making it into the top 10 of major Caribbean charts. Additionally, the band has won numerous awards for songwriting; toured globally, performed at major festivals and events in the United States and Germany; opened for acts such as Sean Paul, Musiq Soul Child, Usher, John Legend, and Rihanna; and had their music featured on television shows broadcast on MTV and BET, as well as licensed tracks to popular games on major video game platforms.
BUSY SIGNAL the Jamaican dancehall sensation will lead the line up on the start of the August bank holiday weekend and will be Busy’s first UK performance for 2010. The acts confirmed to join Busy Signal at the East London venue, are chart topping Soca act Kes The Band featuring Kes Dieffenthaller, Bajan act Lil Rick, Vincentian singer Skinny Fabulous and Grenadian Tallpree, Trinidadian Road March queen Fayann Lyons and Shal Marshal.
The line up now stands at eight (8) acts including Lil Rick, Skinny Fabulous, Tallpree, Fay-ann Lyons, and Shal Marshall.
Organiser Wendel Clement stated, “Donaeo is a heavy hitter in the UK market but has only gained notoriety on the Caribbean circuit over the past few month with the controversial soca remix to Party Hard. We have no doubt that this crossover artiste will give London a show they will never forget.”
